Meditation 101

Mindfulness-based meditation promotes a state of calm and focused relaxation by teaching us to observe our thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations without judgement. In cultivating this neutral mind, we learn to respond rather than react to stress. Mindfulness practices can help people manage conditions like anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, and improve sleep, blood pressure, immunity, and cognitive function (mental focus and attention).

This 45-minute class combines guided meditation with breath work and a relaxing body scan. Perfect for beginners as well as anyone looking for the structure and support that a meditation community provides, Meditation 101 will introduce you to the physical and spiritual benefits of meditation, while giving you practical skills to feel confident practicing at home.
